Accessibility Statement

This statement explains how accessible the AltoLumo website is, which standard we measure it against, what we have done, where the limits are, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

1. Our commitment

AltoLumo wants every visitor, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technology, to be able to read our content and book a conversation with us. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a one-time project.

2. The standard we follow

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, known as WCAG, at version 2.2, Level AA.

• What WCAG is. WCAG is the international standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities. It is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the body that develops core web standards.
• What version 2.2 is. WCAG 2.2 is the current version, published in October 2023. It includes everything in the earlier versions 2.0 and 2.1 and adds new requirements.
• What Level AA means. WCAG has three levels: A (the minimum), AA (the middle level), and AAA (the highest). Level AA is the level most organizations aim for and the one most laws and policies refer to.

What WCAG 2.2 added, and how this site handles it

• Focus is not hidden. When you move through the page with a keyboard, or follow a link to a section of a page, the item you land on stays visible and is not covered by the menu bar that stays at the top of the screen.
• Targets are large enough to tap. Buttons and links outside of running text meet the 2.2 minimum: they are at least 24 by 24 pixels, or have enough space around them that they are easy to hit. Most are 44 by 44 pixels or larger.
• No dragging required. Nothing on the site requires a dragging motion. Every action works with a single click, tap, or key press.
• Help is in a consistent place. Our phone number, email link, and booking link appear in the same footer on every page.
• No retyping. Our contact form is a single step, so you never have to enter the same information twice.
• No puzzle-based login. The site has no account or login, so there are no memory tests or puzzles to sign in.

3. Conformance status

This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is our own assessment, described in section 6. It is not a certification, and it does not cover the third-party tools listed in section 5.

4. What we have done

• Every link, button, and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard alone.
• The item that has keyboard focus always shows a visible outline.
• Text, labels, and links are checked against the WCAG color contrast requirements, and we fix any shortfall we find.
• Meaningful images have text alternatives, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Touch targets are sized to 44 pixels wherever the design allows.
• Pages use real headings, lists, and landmarks so screen readers can move through them.
• Layouts adapt from small phones to large screens without sideways scrolling.
• The HTML is checked with a validator before each release.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off its animations.
• Pages are tested in Chromium based browsers (such as Chrome and Edge), Safari (WebKit), and Firefox.

5. Known limitations

Some features come from third-party services that AltoLumo uses but does not build or control:

• the cookie consent banner,
• the scheduling popup used to book a call,
• the analytics and form handling tools.

Because we do not control their design, we cannot promise that these parts meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. If any of them gets in your way, contact us by email or phone (section 7) and we will book your call or take your information directly.

6. How we evaluated it

AltoLumo evaluated this website itself. We did not use an outside auditor. The review combined:

• automated checks for markup, contrast, and target size,
• manual testing with a keyboard only, including checking that focus is never hidden behind the menu bar,
• testing in several browsers at phone and desktop screen sizes.
